Moulding Chair | Full-Size 3D Printed Armchair (Large Format)

A full-size armchair built from the oldest ornament in architecture, the classical moulding. The profile that would normally run along a cornice is swept all the way around the chair, so its ridges become the arms, the seat and the back, while the front shows the profile itself, drawn out in orange.

It needs a large-format printer with at least 800 × 800 mm of bed space. Printed in one piece lying on its front face, in PETG without supports, it takes about 11.5 days and around 12 kg of filament; the orange edge comes from switching filament for the first 40 mm. The file is already set in its print orientation.
