Straying

Available 2022

This painting depicts an attempt to depart from one's origin; to mold one's own identity from a prior generation. From the mold, we spring to life. It is from that greater and shapeless place that we tear and pull from its core, revealing the shape that defines ourselves as a branch. It is an ever-straining effort, the molasses that tries to pin us in while we struggle against it.
