Surfing

This painting depicts the hurtling wave, screening the canvas in its entirety, dragging even the most stubborn stretch of rebellion along its voluminous shape. There is liberation in allowing oneself to follow the waves, abandoning the typical resistance to simply embrace the momentum. To be carried aloft and sent high and low upon the whims of unknowable fate. So often does one run across the path of destiny rather than be swept up in its natural course. Perhaps it shoves all the same, forcing even the most tenacious of principles to bend in recognition.
