Three bird statues on the canopy edge, about 3.5 m tall each, fibreglass on steel

Three birds, each about 3.5 metres tall, perch on the edge of the glass canopy over the open walkway and shopping street of the Powerlong complex in Shanghai. They are built of fibreglass on a steel structure and lit at night.

They were made as a landmark to draw people into the shopping area. They can be seen from the plane on the approach to Hongqiao Airport, especially in the evening, and have become a place where young people and locals meet: “under the three birds”.
