This painting depicts the temptations of the taboo, both dangerous and yet barely understood. Depths are ever to be fathomed and often case the abyss can be visited by the first crucial step it takes off the ledge. To commit is to be lured, to convince yourself or be convinced into an unknown that could swallow the soul whole. Yet, there is a ruinous charm in the depth, a beauty that only those who had grasped the unfathomable could ever appraise.
